North Star Reach

Fusion Building Company, previously First Choice Building, was honored to be selected to build North Star Reach, a year-round camp in Pinckney, Michigan for children with serious health challenges and their families. This camp is provided free of charge to campers and their families. Site preparation began in March 2014, with vertical building construction starting in August 2014, and the project was completed in Fall 2015. The camp includes a Dining Hall, Medical Center, Sports and Activities Building, Camper Cabins, Caretaker’s Residence, Staff Apartments, Tree House, Staff Bunkhouse and Amphitheater. One of the highest priorities for the camp’s configuration was ensuring it was universally accessible. Additionally, a unique aspect of the construction was the effort to reuse materials from the previous camp on the Pinckney property, Fresh Air Camp, to be resourceful and pay homage to the history of the grounds.
